My main area of work is bathroom and kitchen renovations/installations and as well as actually carrying out the work I also take time in helping my clients to choose the best products for their homes. I am more than happy to provide the actual bathroom suites, kitchen units etc or, alternatively for my clients to provide the same. If clients wish to provide their own kitchen units for example, I will always see if I can get the same at a lower cost for them as I have built up a strong relationship with various building suppliers (for example Howdens who only supply to the trade) and hold trade accounts at various supplies which enable me to purchase various products at a discounted price.
Once a prospective customer contacts me I will arrange a date and time with them to have a look at the work they require to be done and to discuss the same with them. I will then send them an estimate with a duplicate for them to sign and return to me if they are happy with the estimate and want me to undertake the work. I will then contact them with a start date and an estimate of how long the job will take to complete. On large jobs I may require a payment on account 7 days before commencing work to cover the cost of materials, but in these circumstances will always provide the customer with copy invoices/receipts with the balance (i.e. the labour charge) to be paid on completion of the job to the customer's satisfaction. On request, I am happy to supply references.
